Out now: Fritz Busch conducts Brahms Symphonies Nos. 1, 2, 4, Tragic Overture, Nänie, 1942-50

At the starting point of a cooperation between Max-Reger-Institute and Pristine Audio a collection with almost every recording of Johannes Brahms’ works under the conductor Fritz Busch was released. Busch was a student of Fritz Steinbach who had a profile in conducting Brahms and Reger, as well as performing Regers music himself (together with the composer he was playing at his last concert on April 4th 1916 in Aachen, amongst others the Mozart and Beethoven variations on two pianos).
